Tuesday and Wednesday we are working to finish the benchmark (end of year test last year to find out if anything stuck) and also the ALEKS initial knowledge check. Homework today is finishing the teacher graded test problems if they haven't been finished yet. Once students are done with both of those they can start working on slices in ALEKS.
We did what I now want to call "mart" . . . math art. If you weren't here, we colored any pattern you wanted to onto a sheet of graph paper. Playing with shapes and color and also having a day to relax. Enjoy your weekend!
Today's lesson was on unit rates. This should be a review from last year. I started out talking about finding the best value at the grocery store, but using unit rates to compare packages. Since we do not have our books yet, I copied the assignment for the kids out of last year's book. If you happened to not make it to class today, I have lots of extra copies so please just ask for one. The problems to do on those pages are listed on the two weeks at a glance.
Here is our bell ringer problem for the week. What I would like to see in your notebook is the possible answers list at the bottom of the picture, with your answers circled. We will go over the answers on Friday.
